Single Vineyard
The power of terroir of a volcanic land
The area is famous for the Battle of Thermopylae but there are also excellent vineyards and indigenous varieties throughout Central Greece.
The extremely fertile volcanic soil of the area of Thermopylae (thermes=hot, pylae=gates) and the rare microclimate of the specific area located on the axis of hot springs “Kamena Vourla – Thermopylae – Loutra Platystomou” ensure an extremely rare quality wine. Every year also due to the altitude and the specific microclimate, it snows in the vineyard, which is rare in areas only 7km away from the sea.
The vineyard is located on the western side of the Malliakou gulf, just above the protected Natura 2000 Area-Valley and Estuary of the Sperchios River, on the slopes of Kallidromos mountain of Thermopylae, at an altitude of 250 meters and on steep slope. The vines of Merlot, Syrah and Agiorgitiko varieties are cooled by the winds of the Aegean Sea and mount Kallidromos and are cultivated under the supervision of a proffessional agronomist and completely traditional methods without chemicals and without animal additives.
